Ho Chi Minh: Open Source Circular Economy days

Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)

What is circular economy?

The circular economy is a generic term for an industrial economy that is producing no waste and pollution, by design or intention. (wikipedia)

What is open source?

In production and development, open source as a development model promotes universal access via an open-source or free license to a product’s design or blueprint, and universal redistribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone. (wikipedia)

Why OSCE Day Ho Chi Minh? Why Fablab Saigon?

Vietnam is one of the fastest growing country, we produce a lot and we consume a lot. We manufacture for others and our 90+ million population has access to more goods everyday. As a developing country, we have to learn to leapfrog and jump straight to an economy model that is more sustainable not only locally but globally.

Fablab Saigon promotes the makers movement, which advocates for a new relationship to objects, from its fabrication to its disposal. In June 25th and 26th Fablab Saigon will be organizing the SEA Makerthon on the Circular Economy.

What’s the plan?

A full day event on Saturday 11th June at Fablab Saigon, with repair workshops, talks, challenge solving. But what OSCE Day HCM will be depends on what you want it to be.
