In celebration of the museum's centennial, Processional Arts Workshop (PAW) returns for the second year and you can be part of it!
Join this collaborative artistic experience by participating in workshops where locals of all ages will work together to create illuminated lanterns to be used in a site-specific performance taking place at the Vizcaya Village on June 17. These workshops sample different tasks or techniques on any given day, so participants may sign up for as few or as many sessions as they please.
Below is the workshop schedule:
- Friday, June 9, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday, June 10, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday, June 10, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, June 11, noon – 4:00 p.m. [Vizcaya Village Open House]
- Monday, June 12 - Thursday, June 15, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, June 12 - Thursday, June 15, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Workshops are free to the public and open to both children and adults. The workshops are geared towards adults and teens, though we welcome children 8 and up who are working with an adult. Each workshop has a maximum capacity, so registration is mandatory via Eventbrite.
THE PERFORMANCE: The illuminated objects created by community members during these workshops will then be used to create an immersive performance retelling the story of the Vizcaya Village, which takes place on Saturday, June 17, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Participation in the workshop's culminating performance is not a requirement for workshop registration.
